Achieve Mental Wellness with JCP Therapy

About cancer focused retreats

The main goal of the cancer focused retreat is to address and heal the underlying emotional issues that contribute to cancer (or any other serious illness). The mind body connection has been extensively researched both as a contributor to illness but also as an important contributor to healing and prolonging life. Our cancer focused retreats centre around healing past traumas, mapping behaviours and patterns that are not conducive to a healing mindset.

During the retreat we reconnect with joy, hope, enjoyment and well-being. Utilizing our senses, our creativity and our innate drive for happiness to create a life far beyond surviving, but rather a life of thriving and enjoyment. This is the emotional state needed to heal.

We explore our creativity with art, music, dancing, hiking and yoga. On some retreats plant based cooking classes are offered as well as a class about medicinal plants.

During our talk sessions we explore the general and the personal. Sharing and listening in a group is a powerful healing tool that humans have used for thousands of years, and at JCP we combine this ancient tradition with cutting edge psychology.

To fully embrace life we also need to fully embrace death, and rather than viewing it as an unavoidable tragedy we focus on finding peace in it and using it as an advisor. Once we are free from the fear of death, we can then fully embrace life.
